Energy is all there is.
Let me explain. Quantum physics has proven that at the core of everything is energy. When you break open an atom, what you find is a fascinating world of particles and vibrations.
In high school chemistry classes, you learn about the atomic number, or the proton count, of an atom. This number is the defining feature of that element. But have you ever stopped to think about what a proton actually is?
Protons are positive charges, which are balanced by their negatively charged counterpart, the electron. Neutrons, elements with a neutral charge, also reside in the nucleus of an atom. These subatomic particles make up the energy of each atom. In fact, the charge that each atom has relates directly to the amount of power stored in each particle.
While every school teaches this elementary fact, few people are aware of how much this phenomenon impacts the world. If the basis of everything, beginning with the atom, is energy, what does that mean for us?
It means that the beautiful world we live in is both simpler and more complex than we all believe. At the core of everything is energy. The same energy, with positive and negative charges, can oscillate with different wavelengths (or vibrations).
Do you see where I am going with this?
At the atomic level, we are all the same and we are all connected. The same particles and energy that compose you are the same particles and energies inside me. In fact, the same energy, elements, and particles that makes up everything in the world, from nature to your kitchen counter, are the same.
In the end, we are all connected. We are all one. We each just happen to be experiencing a different combination of the energies available to the planet.
So how does this affect us?
Once again, quantum physics shows a new path to mindfulness by proving that our thoughts actually influence the activity of electrons. Simply observing, or thinking about, an electron changes the outcome of the energy*.
On a larger scale, this means that your thoughts directly affect your reality.
How often have you heard someone say, ‘I had a bad feeling about this’, or ‘She gave off such positive vibes’? Often, people are completely unaware of the fact that what they are actually perceiving is the energy of a person or situation.
In a very real way, we all have our own vibration. This vibration, or the energy we give out, is a combination of our bodies, minds, emotions, and, yes, thoughts. The energetic frequency held by each of these elements combine to create us. Our being, our energy, our vibration.
Just like certain colors compliment each other, certain energies will be drawn to each other while others will repel. This is why you can immediately tell when you have met the love of your life, or your new best friend. It also explains why certain people get a bad feeling about someone else.
This gut instinct, or intuition, is available to all people, regardless of your background. The ability to sense and change energy has been proven by both energetic practices, such as Reiki or acupressure, and science, through quantum physics.
The subatomic universe, the energy that connects us all, is the key to bridging the gap between science, mindfulness, and spirituality.
Energy is all there is. It connects us all, and it is an ever changing and evolving part of our existence.
No matter your path to mindfulness, energy is an integral part of it. Exploring its influence in your life is another powerful tool to use on your journey to inner peace.
